Before Shabbat came in, my husband said, “I love your outfit! Don’t move!” And then he snapped this picture. I loved how the Watercolor Dream looked with the light teal Shimmery… and the lace shirt and lace skirt. I felt so myself in this!
And on Sunday, I was inspired by another Wrapunzel lady to wear my signature skirt as a dress! So much fun!
And here is my tichel… I would have never put these colors together until I saw the skirt!

Naomi Rose has created an awesome twist on the “Yael” wrap! In it, she uses two scarves instead of one, which highlights the angles and twist more than if you’re using just once scarf. LOVE IT!!!

This is sooo cool! Many of you have the Wrapunzel Classic Shaper and the Wrapunzel Signature Shaper already… and little did you know that together they create and INCREDIBLE huge shaper that will not slip! Love this!
Zahava is one of the women that makes the Wrapunzel Fangroup so wonderful. Her gentle smile, inspiring stories, beautiful style, and encouraging words are something that many of us look forward to every day. We even named the Empress Circlet after her! A few weeks ago she posted a new style; “Tichel Chignon” she called it. Many of us tried to figure out how she did it and couldn’t get it! So I just had to invite her over to make a tutorial together. We got to spend a little time getting to know each other as well. Beyond her quiet demeanor, Zahava is a proud mother of 11 children, and grandmother of over 20 (and counting, Gd willing!) She just returned from a trip to Israel that her kids surprised her and her husband with for their anniversary. Let’s all bask in her infectious glow, and learn how to tie the “Zahava’s Gold Chignon” together.

Well, today was another boiling hot, humid day! Since it was Shabbat, there was lots of walking to be done (no driving!) so I had to dress for the weather! I like to wear white anyway on Shabbat because it’s a super meaningful thing for my family (here is a bit about it) and today was extra perfect for this. I wore a white Pashmina and Empress Circlet on my head, a colorful summer tunic, and white cotton skirt – loved it! My skin was protected from the sun and the clothing wasn’t constricting so I was really as cool as could be. It’s funny, as soon as I got home and took my tichel off, I was immediately hotter than when I had it on! That was a very big realization for me.
And here is my smiling face 🙂 It’s been a long day, but we had an inspiring Shabbat and I can’t wait for this week! Shavua tov, world!

It’s hottttttt outside… like, 33 degrees Celcius and humid sort of hot! This morning I took one look at my tichel collection and felt an intense calling coming from my signature scarf – I haven’t worn it in over a month! How did that happen?
I did a Yael wrap and WOWZA!! I just fell in love with this tichel allll over again!
Can you see the intense burn on my upper forehead? That’s from Sunday when I was silly and stayed out in the sun during our community kid’s orchestra concert. Learn from my mistakes y’all… tichel sunburns are NOT attractive!
I hope this inspires all of you to whip out your Wrapunzel Signature Scarves… seriously, I completely forgot how awesome it is! I have a feeling it may end up on my head again tomorrow 😛

It is such a common question… and I don’t blame people for wondering when they see me in my long skirts, high neckline and sleeves. How am I not roasting in the heat? As someone that lived through four summers in Israel, I’ve learned quite a few things about dressing for hot weather. Here is why I am not boiling under the sun, and why I actually may be cooler than someone wearing a fraction of the clothing:

It’s this one – called the Watercolor Dream – I’m in love!
You know, it’s funny, I sometimes get so focused on coming up with new and exciting wraps that I forget to wear the colors and styles that are really ‘me’. As much fun as it is to invent new things, it is wonderful to fall back on a wrap that is truly classic and perfectly suited to the woman that I hope to be. Do you ever have experiences like this? For me it felt like stepping back into a warm bath; I just felt so natural and comfortable in my skin.
I wore this to the Chabad Gala tonight and just felt so at home, even though I was the only one there in a tichel. (Actually that may not be true, I think I may have glimpsed one other lady in a scarf, but am not sure.) And no sillies, I can’t afford to go to something like that as an actual guest! I was there playing the cello, hence the mostly black outfit 🙂
Anyway, I digress! This is what I find works best for me style-wise:
– Royal colors
– A bit of bing, but nothing too flashy
– Lots of volume, but not near my face. I like volume at the back of my head, in a nice and round halo shape
– Hanging tails, but not too long
– Layers, but not with extreme angles
So… what do you think? What styles work best for YOU? Are you a refined one scarf woman? Do you shine most with bright colors and fun patterns? Do angles and contrast work best for you? Or do sophisticated appliques an sparkles make you the most beautiful? What about volume? High, low, round, tall, big, small, or nada? Can’t wait to hear your responses!

We often get emails that read like this: “Dear Wrapunzel, I really want to start wrapping but I don’t think I can because of my age/face shape/height/coloring etc. etc.” Well, we are here to tell you, ANYONE can wrap and look gorgeous! It’s all about finding the perfect, unique style for you! Here we have Wrapunzel ladies over 45 showing off their gorgeous wraps and telling you that “Yes, YES YOU CAN!”

I must own over 200 scarves of varying sizes, shapes, colors and fabrics. I believe that many times people have treated me a little differently and acted — and spoken — better because of how I dress, including covering my hair. It’s become part of my identity and as I get older and more comfortable with myself I’m less concerned with “looking different.” I’ve gone to lots of weddings in New York where I was the only married woman (besides a very few who don’t cover at all) not wearing a wig. My tichels have always been admired and sometimes a little envied. I love all the new ways to wrap that I’ve learned and have been inspired to try by Wrapunzel. “It’s Su Miller, the wrapping newbie and loving every minute of it. I am 46 years old and I came to wrapping late in life (just a few months ago at the end of January). The entire experience has been transformative on so many levels. Even though I also began to feel a call to dress more modestly, I found my tichels to be so wonderfully colorful and expressive that I wanted my clothing to reflect that as well. It is through wrapping that I feel that I have finally found myself and my own sense of style. I also get told that I look younger since I began to wrap. Within the first 2 weeks co-workers were asking me if I had a face lift, botox, microdermabrasion, or even just a facial. Just the other day I was carded while buying some wine and the cashier asked if it was really my ID that I handed her because I look so much younger than the photo (I wasn’t covering in that picture). We had a laugh about it.”
