My tichel matches my… cello?

As I was playing today my husband noticed that my tichel matched my cello!  Well… not quite, but close enough!

Soooo I am wearing my two new favourite tichels from the summer line!  These ombre two in ones are so awesome!!!!  They’re very light and durable and I’m finding that adding one is like adding three new scarves without adding any bulk!  And this brown pashmina (we named it Andrea’s Brown because I’m so crazy about it) is just… so yummy!  I can’t even explain why I love it so much… it’s just such a special color!  And these pins – Rivka Malka and I had doubts about these… they actually aren’t so great off a tichel, but ON a tichel!  Wow!   Made for it! My husband says they remind him of grapes 🙂  They just add so much… very happy!

Sending so much love and happiness to all of you!!  Play on!

Some Outfit Inspiration!

Here are 4 outfits that I wore recently that were perfectly enhanced by tichels!

I’m always asked how to match up patterned shirts with tichels.  “Is it possible to wear a patterened shirt with a patterned head scarf?”  The answer is yes!!  Just look for similar colours and flow, and you’ll look even more put together!

My favourite blue dress with a flowing blue scarf (a gift from Rivka Malka – and yes it will be a part of the store soon!), with pearls and a brown Israeli tichel for contrast!  Loved this one!

This next outfit was so much fun!  I was worried about putting all this texture together but the separate elements enhanced each other!  This photo was taken after a long day and in bad light, but you can only imagine what it looked like before!  The colours are so happy!

And last but not least, a photo from a recent concert… elegant and understated.

I hope this post shows you how tichels can help you do MORE with what you already have!  Let me know what you think and please keep sending in your requests!  It really helps me out!  Kol tuv ❤

New Accessory Discovery!

All you Wrapunzel ladies know how that the weirdest baubles can make the greatest scarf accessories!  Brooches, earrings, belts, and necklaces have all made their ways onto our heads!  Now here’s a new idea (not my own) – a belt buckle!  So cool!  What do you think?

I’m loving it so much that we’re definitely going to bring them to the store for you!  I can see so many endless possibilities!

My new DROOOOOL tichel!

Oh wow!  Has it ever happened to you that you get a scarf and you just know that it will NEVER be folded up and put away nicely because it will become your new “most-worn”?  Well, something magical happened when I found this scarf, and I just knew!  It’s so soft and glorious!  These end of the day photos simply don’t do it justice, but I tried!  The teal and orange… yum!  I think it’s my new favourite colour combination!

(And yes – I have a feeling you’re gonna love it as much as I do so we’re working on getting it for the store!)

What colour combinations are you loving lately???

One Scarf – Three Ways!

I am so happy with this scarf!  It’s light, colourful, and can be worn in so many ways!  Depending on how you fold it before wrapping, it creates a myriad of layers.  During my recent trip to my brother’s wedding (!) I didn’t pack enough scarves to wear during the week (I had tons of scarves from the new Wrapunzel Store, but not for myself… go figure).  However, I did pack this one and made sure to wear it with different wrapping techniques.  Here they are!

Way #1 – Regal Wrap with Hanging Tail and teal colour at the front:

Way #2 – All tucked in Regal Wrap and navy colour at the front with a turquoise sash added for fun! (and husband 😛 )

Way #3 – Simple Elegance with pink pattern at the front and flower pin!

And yes, this is one of the scarves we will be selling!  Now tell us, what are some new scarf discoveries you have made lately?

Classic Layered Ponytail Tutorial!

Can anyone come up with a better name for this wrap??  I’m not a fan of the one I came up with above…

Here is the tutorial that you have all been waiting for!  This particular wrap is a match makers dream!  I know it’s sometimes hard to match tichels… but keep trying and don’t be afraid to incorporate something new into your wrap!

Fall Colours ~

Baltimore’s fall colours are UNREAL today!   Seriously, I had to stop while walking because I was in shock – the sky, the clouds, the trees, the leaves… WOW!

So obviously the weather outside subliminally inspired my tichel choice!  This wrap was done using two long scarves of the same length, braiding the ends into a 4-strand plait.

A Sparkly Thank You!

A very generous reader all the way across the ocean thought of me while shopping, and sent me this stunning beaded band in the mail!  It’s such a perfect hair wrapping accessory; I decided to wear it for the holiday of Sukkot paired with a green, flowered scarf.  Thank you!!!

(Yep, these photos were snapped pre makeup and earring almost falling out – there was so much cooking and running around to do before the beginning of the holiday!)

The dress I wore was a gift from my husband!  It is one of those “covers all” dresses that I don’t need to wear anything else over in order to be comfortably modest.  It’s from the vintage section of etsy (very affordable!) and is perfect for the nippy weather!

Elegant & Earthy (aka clothing post #1!)

You asked, and I have listened!  Here is the first of hopefully many posts where clothing matching suggestions are included.   Many ladies shy away from anything other than solid colours when covering; I know I used to!  However, this need not be.  As long as you use the scarf to pull out and enhance colours of your outfit, the scarf can actually allow you to wear MORE colour combinations than you previously would dare.  I am looking forward to showing you how this is possible as I post more clothing advice.

But I digress.  Here is outfit #1!  Often for my outfits, I pick the scarf first (because obviously that’s what I love choosing the most), but in this instance, the shirt was one I had been wanting to wear for a while, so that was picked first.  The brown skirt and layering shirt were easy choices, and the orange and gold scarf matched the shirt perfectly!  Even though the scarf has silver threads in it, the gold earrings and pin were a good match.  I could have easily added a green sash to the scarf wrap as well.

You may recognize the scarf as the background curtain of many of the tutorial videos.  Remember?
andrea grinberg wrapunzel tichelThis scarf was delegated as a curtain because I previously thought it was too thick to wrap well.  Since moving, the pashmina “curtains” were taken down, and I decided to try wrapping it on my head!  I don’t think this will going back to being a curtain any time soon 🙂

The scarf was wrapped in a basic pashmina regal wrap.  Here is the result!

I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely weekend!

Wrapunzel Goals!

Hi Everyone!  My husband and I are making a cross country move this week after house sitting (and living out of boxes) for the last two months.  This is why I haven’t been able to create new videos, and you may have seen some repetitive daily wraps… my recording space is non-existent and most of my scarves are packed away!  That being said, I have been thinking a lot about your requests, ideas, and suggestions… and have great hopes for where Wrapunzel can go once we settle into our new place!

Here are some of my ideas and goals, based on your comments and requests:

– Clothing matching and style suggestions.  I am planning on doing posts showing how I match outfits to scarves… I am very excited to do this!  Even though I am by no means a fashionista, I have realized that perhaps the fact that I am a working woman who needs to find (very) affordable clothing AND wrap amazing scarves around my head makes it even more important that I share what I know.

– More giveaways!  I am stunned by how successful our two giveaways have been, and how they have brought this community closer together.  I am hoping to do many more!

– Personalized attention.  I am hoping to do one on one consultations, troubleshooting, and personalized scarf selecting for ladies that are interested.  I am also looking forward to doing many more scarf wrapping workshops, which is a great chance to get hands on experience!

– Measurements.  I will get a measuring tape and share with you the dimensions of the ideal head wrapping scarves.  This is a promise 😛

– A chance for you to buy head coverings.  I seem to have a magnetism/gift for finding beautiful and affordable scarves and matching them with accessories.  And I shouldn’t be the only person benefitting from this.  A huge chunk of women seem to stumble on this site, think that I am selling these creations and are disappointed to find out that I am not.  I will figure out a way to make this happen for you… looking forward to this!

– Video tutorials.  You ladies love watching them, and I love making them.  You can look forward to watching my do many more tichel ties… and as requested, I will show you more side and back views!

– More lady wrap stars from around the world!

So… this is what I have been thinking about and looking forward to!  I would like to open up the comments section of this post to hear what you think about these ideas, and if you have other suggestions.  By the end of August I should able to get most of these ideas off the ground.  Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance!

Love, Andrea
