Naomi Rose and Andrea Together!

Look at our different face shapes and personalities, and how you can use your tichel to highlight these unique features and allow your inner essence to shine!

Look at the gorgeous soft height on Naomi Rose, and the awesome shimmery-ness I'm wearing!
Check out the gorgeous soft height on Naomi Rose, and the awesome shimmery-ness I’m wearing! No such thing as too many shimmeries… right?

In the photo above, you can see how Naomi Rose has highlighted her beautiful face shape with a wrap that give height at the back and not the sides.  And of course the teal and wine combo is just sumptuous!  (She’s wearing a Trust and Sari Scarf.)  I decided to go Shimmerycrazy with some side volume, angles (but not too angled because my face can’t take it!) and a side braid!  Loved this!

Now check out the next one we did!  I decided that I wanted to try the height at the top too… but made sure that I extended it around the sides as well which worked beautifully!   I really should wear this Lakeshore Bliss tichel more often!  Naomi Rose looks ethereal and earthy in her Peaceful Mornings and Gold Roses headband tied in the Shira Tails style!

Now honestly, both of us could have swapped styles and we still would have loved it, but the styles we wore during these particular photos reflected how we were feeling at the time, and what kind of light we wanted to give to the world!  I’m so lucky to know this woman!

Wishing you all the bracha, beauty, and joy in the world!

Andrea’s Face Shape Fiasco

So you all heard Tova talk about face shape in her last post, right?  I want to show you an example of my experimenting with height and angles in a way that did NOT suite my face shape!  (And certainly doesn’t work with my personality either!)  Please note that I have a long face, pointy chin and nose… and generally look best in softer angles and shapes, with more volume at the sides instead of on top.  This style would be great for someone that wants to enhance the angles of her face and make it look thinner.

This wrap would look AMAZING on someone else with a different personality, but not so much on me!

I snapped these photos as an example, but immediately changed into a much softer and more comforting wrap which suits my face shape and personality better.  Whew!

Now don’t get me wrong… y’all know that I love doing the crazy layers/braids/angles like nobody’s business!   However those layers need to be done with my face shape in mind; flat near the front (even if it has layers) and then more volumous/crazy at the back and on the sides!  In the following example, I’m still doing a lot of height, but father back and with better angles to suit my face shape and personality 🙂

At Wrapunzel we want to teach you to look YOUR best in a tichel!  This means that you might see a photo of someone else and they look AWESOME, but that look may not be right for you!  We’d love to hear in the comments, what are some looks that just don’t work for you and why?  And what have you learned from your experimentation?

Layered Shira Tails Tutorial (and lots more exciting!!)

wrapunzel andrea grinberg

Hello lovelies!!  It’s a cold and sunny day here in Baltimore, and it’s the perfect weather for a double pashmina wrap!  Enter the Shira Tails!  This has been a well circulated wrap tutorial, but sometimes ladies have a little trouble looking at it because we took it randomly when meeting Shira at one of our shows!  So here is my layered version!

I am totally loving this wrap… it’s been too long since I’ve broken out my favourite Blue and Black Midnight Lakeshore Bliss scarf (one day I’ll tell y’all the story behind this tichel… it’s pretty incredible!)  I paired it with a black pashmina and our (surprise!) new lace sash!  It’s not online yet but you can bet they will go crazy when we have them up for you!  This is just a taste 😛

And just because I felt like it, I decided to experiment with adding our new Celtic Braid headband… WOA!  It just took this tichel from cozy fancy to wedding worthy!  I only wore it long enough to snap these photos, because it was just a little too fancy for teaching music to kidlets, but I know I’ll be wearing it again soon when the occasion arrives!

Wishing you all a beautiful day, filled with lots of light and connection!  May you get to appreciate something new, and share it with someone else!  It’s such a pleasure to know you all ❤

Warm Brown and Rust

Wrapunzel Andrea Grinberg

It was an overcast day, and this color combination was calling me in the morning!!  (Yes, my tichels sometimes talk to me… don’t yours?)  There’s something about rust paired with brown… it’s so earthy and warm!  I felt so “at home” in this and it nurtured my soul!  Definitely something I’m going to ry again soon!

Because I know you’ll ask, I’m wearing a brown soft pashmina, burgundy/gold Israeli tichel (these are AWESOME!), and a beaded twist necklace made into a headband by the regal clasp!

I know that many of you are going through some crazy rollercoaster times right now… and I want to let you know that I’m with you and sending you so much love!  Hang on tight!

Ethereal White, Cream, & Taupe

A lovely lady on the Wrapunzel Fangroup posted an gorgeous photo of her wearing white and cream, so I was inspired to try it as well!  My husband loves when I wear white on Shabbat, so this was a treat for him – and I also felt so special and holy!  It’s incredible how choosing your colors and style truly alters how you relate to the world around you!

I paired the Dreamy Lace with three 2 in 1s!

I tied this in a DB (Double Braid) with a criss cross at the front, and simply placed the lace scarf on top, letting the fringed ends hang.  I wore it with two skirts layered (a shorter camel one, with a longer white underneath) and brown boots 🙂  I haven’t felt so good about an outfit in a long time!!  (And that’s saying a lot, most of the time I am loving what I wear, but this was just another level!)

Share with us a time that you put a little extra effort into what you wore, and how it affected your day!  Let’s inspire each other!

Triple-y Twisted, the new DB?

So I was running out of the house today, ready to do my go-to double braid (the DB), when I thought, why not do three twists instead of two braids?  Both use three 2 in 1s, which were already on my head all ready to go!  So I tried it, and do I ever like it!  What do you think?  Do you think this will be the new DB?

Earthy Dreams

Rivka Malka recently talked me into getting this sari scarf… I was so unsure of it, but she had the foresight to see that it would match and pull together so much of what is in my wardrobe!  FYI ladies if Rivka Malka makes a fashion suggestion to you… listen!

I loved wearing this green, orange, grey (toldja the colours were weird!) sari scarf with this outfit yesterday.  It was a gorgeous day and my husband was more than willing to snap some photos for y’all!

Have you ever had some advise you or give you something that you weren’t sure about and then you ended up LOVING it?  It’s incredible how our friends can see potential in us that we don’t normally see!

Much love, Andrea xx

Shimmery Naomi Knot!

I’d never tried doing The Naomi Knot with a shimmery scarf before!  This just sparkled like nothing else!!  And whenever I do this wrap I can’t get over how intricate it looks… the tie is SO easy!

wrapunzel andrea grinberg naomi knot

I heard that a few of your tried the Naomi knot and didn’t have perfect results; watch the tutorial and make sure that one side is MUCH longer than the other (the shorter ends can be as short as possible) and tie your knots loosely so they go over your head!  In this one pictured I actually had tons of scarf left over!  Let me know how it goes for you!

Hugs and love!

Sari Scarf Appreciation

This new sari.  The evening light.  The swishy skirt from Israel.  The lace.  The cowboy boots.  And cuddling with our kitty after being away for so long!  Bliss.

Here are some closeups of the wrap!  I would have never thought to put together purple and gray until I saw it in this sari scarf!  So soothing and rich!

And here you can see my fave clompin’ cowboy boots!

Wishing you all huge amounts of peace, understanding, beauty, love, and finding and giving light, wherever you may be.

Easy Breezy Style!

This outfit was so gorgeous and functional!!  When you put two colours together on your head, the outfit combinations are endless!  Featured here are olive green and light navy!

(Wearing an olive and navy 2 in 1 plus the lovely peacock pin my sis in law gifted me!)

Wishing you all a splendid week!  Can’t wait to hear how you’re doing!

Four-Strand Braid Rainbow!

This is one of my favourite outfits that I wore in Israel… the dress allows for so many tichel colour combinations!  This 4-strand braid always makes me so happy!!

… walking down the back streets in the neighbourhood of Geula:

And standing on the hill where my husband and I got married!  You can see the wall of the old city behind… such a holy place!

In these photos I’m wearing four 2 in 1s – I was out all day in the boiling heat and stayed quite cool!  I would, however, if I wanted it to be cooler, choose a style without so much hanging tail on the side… but it was super fun in the breeze!

Shabbat shalom, world!  (And Shavua Tov to those of you already in Shabbat that will see this afterward!)

Last Day in Israel

Hello Beauties!

I’m sorry for my absence on the blog.  For those of you that have been reading the news and following me online, you’ll know that the last couple of weeks in Israel have been difficult, and even though I’ve continued to rock beautiful head wraps every day, for some reason posting them just didn’t feel right.  I do have lots of photos, though, and Gd willing they will be posted when I get back!

So here is a lovely double braid, for your viewing pleasure.  Do you ladies think I’ll ever get tired of discovering new combinations to do this with?  With a solid collection of 2 in 1s, you can match pretty much any article of clothing perfectly!

This dress is another gorgeous Jerusalem find!  I love its modesty and subdued colours!

Hope you are all doing so well, and thank you for all the emails, calls, and messages.  I feel like you’re all right here with me and the support means so so much.  All my love,
Andrea

The DB Goes Higher!!

Hi Everyone!  I’ve been trying to figure out a way to do the double braid so it doesn’t just sit like a low bun (not flattering on everyone’s face shape), and have figured it out!  You just need to wear your shaper/bun much higher, and when braiding, make the braid loose so it’s longer.  I suppose you could skip this step if you can find super long scarves, but I prefer using traditional length scarves so wanted to find a way using these!

Check it out!  I actually rewrapped it after taking these photos and now it’s even higher than this!!  Woohoo!
andrea grinberg wrapunzel

It is SUPER hot and humid today in Jerusalem (39 C /102 F)… so I’m wearing a floaty skirt and of course my tichel is off of my neck!  Thank Gd, with staying in the shade and drinking lots of ice water I so far haven’t melted!

Look ma – no shaper!!

Many of you have been asking for fancy styles that are possible without the shaper, so I’ve been experimenting for you!  Here’s the lowdown: if you like a lot of volume by your face, prefer a less layered look, and don’t care if the bun part of your head is either not there or small, then you don’t need a shaper.  However, if (like me) you don’t benefit from having lots of volume by your face and like to do lots of layering (just not right on top of your head), then a shaper is a must!  I have, however, really enjoyed experimenting with having more volume/layers around my face… but I’m realizing that it’s just not the best look for me!  Luckily I do have enough hair to allow me to do some layering at the back, but not enough for my taste.  I was asked today, by someone that sells mitpachot, what kind of shaper I’m wearing, so maybe I’m just biased – what do you think?

Here I am wearing two ombre 2 in 1s and one regular navy 2 in 1:

It was definitely harder to keep the layers neat without the shaper!  On first try, the tichel itself looked good but *I* didn’t because there was so much layering around my face!  On second try I was able to move the layers back a bit, but the result wasn’t as easy and neat as when I have the shaper to wrap around.

And here I am wearing just a gold shimmery!  This is actually something I really liked, and I definitely got approval from my mother in law! It looked so fancy yet was so easy – thoughts?
