Raspberry Chocolate Creme!

I never would have thought to put these colors together… I brought home these two pashminas to try out from our new summer collection, and I loved them both so much that I couldn’t decide which one to wear!  My husband said, “Why not both?”  I’m glad I listened to him!

(The two pashminas will be called “summer purple” and “Andrea’s Brown” – I paired it with the creme ruffled waves sash and a fabric pin!)

After the tichel was decided the outfit came easily:

Today today!

Hi everyone!!!!  Here’s what I’m wearing today.  Thanks for all the enthusiastic responses to yesterday’s post – I will definitely show you more outfit combinations now!  Hope you enjoy today’s tichel as well.  It has a lot of texture and patterns (even for me, lol) but the darker, subdued colours make it work!

And if anyone is wondering about the weird earring placement accident, I invite you to take a guess about why I have two holes in one ear and one in the other!  (Hint: has to do with playing the cello!)

It’s a BEAUTIFUL Day!

Today is such a gift!  We hosted a vibrant, bustling in-person Wrapunzel event this morning at Rivka Malka’s house – it was so much fun bonding with all these beautiful women and teaching them how to wrap!  We also have a very rare, pre Pesach sale at the Wrapunzel Store happening only today (yes, right now!)… it is our first time doing something like this so we were uper duper excited!  It has been so much fun watching so many creative orders come in and maintaining the site as the day goes on!  I also had a very intense chamber music coaching this morning as well as a rehearsal later… and tonight is our dress rehearsal for a big concert next week!  Whew!  All in all, this has been a wonderful day so far!  And I had to make sure when I got ready early in the morning that I wore something that could take me through the whole day!  Here it is!

My tichel is a lovely warm combination of turquoise, white and brown… yum!

My outfit had to be nice enough to do a tichel show, comfortable enough to clean the house for pesach, practical enough to walk through some muddy bits to get to rehearsal, with a wide enough skirt to play the cello!  I’m so happy with the results!

WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

And of course, the clothes are meaningless unless they reveal your inner essence, which I really feel like these clothes do today.  I am so thankful today to know each and every one of you!  Wishing you a gorgeous, productive, and meaningful week!

Fancy Wraps!

Here are two fancier wraps that I’ve been experimenting with, both with the same pin!  The first is using a sari scarf and a very thin Israeli tichel underneath!

The second was using a green silky scarf and some black, sparkly sashes that I simply love!  It was a new discovery to see how the pin secured everything together!

My new favourite!

Yes, I spell “favourite” with a “U”;  I’m Canadian, eh!

I was recently inspired by this video and wanted to try the wrap.  I was all ready to use my new sparkly brown scarf for it, but when I attempted the tie, I found the ends were much too long and heavy for it to work.  So, I made an adjustment and wrapped the longer end around my head once again (with a slight twist) and tucked it under the knot once I had brought it around.  Sounds complicated? It’s not.  Let me know if you would like a tutorial!

I finished off the look with a beautiful pin and was ready to face the day.  I got many more comments about my wrap than I am used to… so I consider this one a success!

The Non-Braided Braid

My favourite colour combination!  When wrapping these two scarves, I was left with the brown ends being much longer than the blue/brown ones.  To help even them out, I held the blue/brown ones straight, and then criss-crossed the brown ones around it, making the ends even at the bottom!  To fasten, I just wound one of the brown ends around the bottom and tied.  The brown and gold antique pin tied the wrap together perfectly.  Enjoy!

It’s not every day…

… that the director of your seminary in Jerusalem is in Chicago and you get to go to an alumni dinner!  So, I am dressing accordingly:

This wrap is actually only one scarf and one sash.  The scarf has three colours (black, brown and white) and the sash is a golden colour which matches my outfit and the pin perfectly.  It’s funny that I used to be such a minimalist when it came to jewellery, but now that I cover my hair, I like wearing huge earrings!

Wrap of the Day

Here is what was on my head today!  I was inspired by the lady that commented, metioning how she likes to mix pale blue/green/purple hues with brown.  I had a little trouble with the slippery fabric of the scarf so… easy solution:  tie the ends together with a hair elastic!  (in lieu of knots, which can come undone!)  Of course, the pin on top hides this, so no one will know that you cheated 🙂

Beautiful Brown

I love the colour brown.  I secretly (or not so secretly) yearned for brown hair, but never coloured it because I was given such a lovely shade of blonde.  Now that I cover, I can make my head any colour that I please!

This wrap is an easy adaptation of the regal wrap.  Instead of wrapping the second strand flat over my head, I gave it a twist!
