Shabbat White ~ (with a little Canadian thrown in!)

I was so happy with my Shabbat tichel that I wore it on Friday night AND Saturday during the day!  I don’t know why I’ve never tried putting the white shimmery and white shinylicious together before… they were made for each other!  And of course I couldn’t help adding some lace to top it off!

It's so pretty!!!
It’s so pretty!!!

I only realized later that the dark red and white colours (that’s right, it’s coloUrs :P) made me look very Canadian.  I’m not one to tout my nationality, but it definitely made me smile!

For those that are wondering… I do attempt to wear white on Shabbat when I can.  My husband wears all white (yes, even the shoes!) so it’s sometimes a challenge to keep up, but I at least don’t wear black on Shabbat.  The white reminds us that on this day we are elevated, ethereal, and closer to the infinite than during the week.  I must admit, that wearing white tichels and clothing truly reminds me of this, and I hope to do it more often!

How do you feel about wearing white?

Ethereal White, Cream, & Taupe

A lovely lady on the Wrapunzel Fangroup posted an gorgeous photo of her wearing white and cream, so I was inspired to try it as well!  My husband loves when I wear white on Shabbat, so this was a treat for him – and I also felt so special and holy!  It’s incredible how choosing your colors and style truly alters how you relate to the world around you!

I paired the Dreamy Lace with three 2 in 1s!

I tied this in a DB (Double Braid) with a criss cross at the front, and simply placed the lace scarf on top, letting the fringed ends hang.  I wore it with two skirts layered (a shorter camel one, with a longer white underneath) and brown boots 🙂  I haven’t felt so good about an outfit in a long time!!  (And that’s saying a lot, most of the time I am loving what I wear, but this was just another level!)

Sari Scarf Appreciation

This new sari.  The evening light.  The swishy skirt from Israel.  The lace.  The cowboy boots.  And cuddling with our kitty after being away for so long!  Bliss.

Here are some closeups of the wrap!  I would have never thought to put together purple and gray until I saw it in this sari scarf!  So soothing and rich!

And here you can see my fave clompin’ cowboy boots!

Raspberry Chocolate Creme!

I never would have thought to put these colors together… I brought home these two pashminas to try out from our new summer collection, and I loved them both so much that I couldn’t decide which one to wear!  My husband said, “Why not both?”  I’m glad I listened to him!

(The two pashminas will be called “summer purple” and “Andrea’s Brown” – I paired it with the creme ruffled waves sash and a fabric pin!)

After the tichel was decided the outfit came easily:

Navy and Mint!!

Lately it hasn’t been very often that you’ll see me wearing one scarf… I’d forgotten how beautiful it can be!!  Yes, layers are incredible, but sometimes you just want one scarf to shine… and this Navy Shimmery certainly did that beautifully.  I added a necklace and that was it!  The wrap I did was a waterfall twist (with an extra little twist) and it stayed put all night long with no adjustment needed!  Since I was wearing a black shaper underneath, no other scarves were needed except the one!

The outfit I wore was another lucky Goodwill find!  I almost didn’t buy it because I thought it would be hard to match, but then remember I had a mint shell and a navy skirt that would work perfectly with it!  This was one of those fancy but super comfortable outfits that I know I’ll wear again!  I hope you enjoy it!

I hope you are all having an inspiring, healthy, cathartic, and grateful weekend!  Sending you much love and light!

Holy Lace

Hello beautiful Wrapunzel ladies!  I hope you’re all doing well and those of you that are preparing for Pesach are managing to keep your sanity intact and your kavannah strong!  Here is what I wore for Shabbat!  I am totally loving this white lace scarf (my husband helped pick it out), and yes, for those of you wondering, we are working on getting it for the store!  The turquoise 2 in 1 is now one of my complete favourites – I actually decided to iron it for a concert last week and since then it’s been looking fancier than when it had the runches!

As you can see above, I wore my white cotton dress from Yom Kippur – I had no idea it would match the lace tichel so well!  My husband wears all white on Shabbat, so my outfit was picked out with love to match him, and also incorporating teal, my favourite colour.  It was a beautiful day here in Baltimore, and this outfit was perfect for our long Shabbat walk 🙂

All my love, Andrea
