Raspberry Chocolate Creme!

I never would have thought to put these colors together… I brought home these two pashminas to try out from our new summer collection, and I loved them both so much that I couldn’t decide which one to wear!  My husband said, “Why not both?”  I’m glad I listened to him!

(The two pashminas will be called “summer purple” and “Andrea’s Brown” – I paired it with the creme ruffled waves sash and a fabric pin!)

After the tichel was decided the outfit came easily:

You’ve seen this scarf before… but I’m obsessed!!

Hi ladies!!  Check out this new way to wrap your sari scarf!  It’s a normal tie, just with the lines on an angle… and then the pin is placed at the top of the head instead of the side like I’m used to!  Yay happy experiments!  What do you think?

And do y’all think it’s about time I got myself another sari scarf?  😛

Hope you’re all having a beautiful day!
Love, Andrea

Wrapunzel in the Kitchen!

My husband snapped this photo as I did dishes at the end of a busy, magical day.  I was very happy with this outfit choice!  (Earlier in the day I was wearing a shorter light blue skirt, but switched to the grey later for cello playing!)

The tichel I wore was a happy experiment!  I am really enjoying using pins to create interesting drapes and poufs with the ends of scarves.  This one was no exception!

Hope you are all doing well!  Are there any new looks or ties that you’ve been experimenting with?

Warm & Connected

There is something just so… warm about this wrap!  The soft fabric just works and something about it feels so natural!  I can’t put my finger on it, but I know this is one of my new favourites that will be worn again and again!

Have you ever had that happen to you?  Have you ever created a wrap that is just so *you* and you can’t quite figure out why?

“The Naomi Knot” Tutorial

Wowwwww what a response to the last post!  You all really wanted a tutorial, and I wanted to figure out new ways of doing this awesome Naomi Wrap… so here you go!

Sooooo what should we call it??  I have already thought of “The Naomi” but that probably won’t work because I have a feeling we will have many more wraps on here inspired by her!  Something with the word “Knots”?  But nothing “knotty” please :p

The Tichel Makes the Outfit!

You know what’s so cool about hair wrapping?  An outfit that on its own would be mismatched looks incredibly coordinated when paired with the right head scarf!  Check it out!

Grey, purple, and sky blue? You wouldn't think it works, but with this tichel, it's the perfect combination!

A Happy Ending

The beginning of August marked the end of the summer orchestra program that my husband and I have been directing.  We finished off with a ridiculously epic concert (the kids were INCREDIBLE… like, woa!) so an equally ridiculously epic scarf tie was needed since I was to be MC-ing the concert.

This tichel was wrapped similarly to the technique shown in this video.  Honestly, there were so many tails hanging around that I just tied and tucked them in randomly… and got lucky with the result!

Anniversary Tichel!

It’s not every day that I celebrate being married to my outstanding husband for exactly two years.  Here is the tichel that I wrapped for our anniversary:

All smiles:

The Sashy Accent

It always amazes me how a good sash accessory can completely change the look of a wrap.  Here I am going to show you a simple, purple scarf, wrapped in the exact same way, but when paired with two different sashes, the look is completely changed!  See for yourself!

With a tye-dye, colourful, thin, silk scarf:

And with a ruffled sash (honestly I can’t see how this sash would be worn *not* on one’s head!):

Fancy Side Ponytail

(Scroll down to the comments section of this post to see a very interesting discussion about hair covering and religion.)

I am very happy with the results of this wrap!  This particular style is a Regal Wrap with Hanging Tails, except instead of using the pin to secure the ends, I used the purple tails to create a side ponytail.

It was also nice to discover that I had earrings with red, purple and turquoise in them… so my nails actually matched (somewhat)!

Ballerina bun!

Inspired by my dancer friend, I decided to try a high bun wrap for today:

To do this one, just make sure that you have your hair (or volumizer or whatever) high up on your head, then tie one square scarf in a basic tucked in wrap.  Then I took an israeli scarf, folded it up and wrapped it around the bun part, tucking the ends in 🙂
