Fancy Tutorial Alert!

Hello, Wrapunzel World! This is Rachel writing. Sometimes you need a REALLY great headwrap. One with a huge WOW factor, that’s full of elegance and grace. A true head-turner, so to speak! We’ve got two new tutorials from skillfully-wrapped Wrapunzelistas that fit the bill perfectly and are thrilled to be able to share them with you today:

Stepanie (Belle of the Ball) - WrapunzelFirst, we have Stephanie in her Wrapunzel tutorial debut (Remember her from our most recent Lady Wrap Star post?)! She recently discovered  an incredible solution to tying a rather tricky scarf and the end result is truly breathtaking.

Starting with her “Wendy” Beret Volumizer as a base, she then combined a silver Belle of the Ball and dark blue 2 in 1 to create this sophisticated side-knot, which is perfect  for even the most formal of affairs!

Stephanie tells us that almost any very thin scarf will work with this wrap style, which got me thinking of other possible combinations. Trying it with a Shiny-licious is at the top of my list!

Jasmin (Shimmery - Shiny-licious) - Wrapunzel2At the other end of the spectrum, we have the triumphant return of Jasmin and her stunningly glamorous shimmery wrap! This seemingly effortless (it’s not as complex as it looks, I swear!) and creative style is perfect for the woman who loves intricate-looking wraps without tails (myself included).

Like Stephanie, she also started with her “Wendy” volumizer (you need a LOT of volume to wear under this wrap), before moving on to her mix of The Shimmery (in both light olive and navy) and a  Shiny-licious (in mulberry). The end result is big, bold and beautiful- a real statement wrap!

Enjoy, ladies!

So Much to be Thankful For!

Hi Everyone!  So for those of you that have been following the whole Wrapunzel/Wrapunzel The Store saga (“Wrapunzelution” is now a word!!!!), you will know how incredibly blessed both Rivka Malka and I are to be on this whirlwind adventure!  There is a revolution brewing, and you are the ones that are starting it!  Incredible!  Anyway, here are some tichels and outfits I’ve been putting together lately that have made me feel both modest and regal!

Rockin the Rustic Romance… this scarf is still my favourite!  It just hugs the head so nicely!  And seriously I can’t get enough of these Signature Max pins… they grab so much scarf and lay so flat!  Can we all hope together that one day we can get them with gold backing?

A slightly more formal outfit that flows – and the colours are very sun/hot weather friendly!  My husband loved the lace (he likes when I wear white!) and yes, this is another necklace attached by our friend’s new invention, the Regal Clasp!  There will be a video about it soon!  (And yes, our kitty photobombed because she loved hiding under this skirt!)

This rustic, layered yet simple tichel was perfect for a sunny day running outdoor errands!  There weren’t any tails hanging down which equaled much more functionality than my usual braids and twists!  Just make sure you put sunscreen on your neck or stay in the shade!  (For those that are wondering, it’s the dark red 2in1 and brown NYB!)

Another functional outfit that wore beautifully!  Hello cowboy boots!

And last but not least… one of the most beautiful tichels I’ve ever worn, with lovely colours and intricacy.  The outfit was such a joy to move in; modest and feminine.  This one will definitely be repeated!  (Tichel is Rivka Malka’s Teal pashmina, sash from the Truffleberry kit, and Wrapunzel Buckle!)

Rivka Malka’s Funktastic Outfit!

Rivka Malka came over today to plan for our upcoming workshops/shows and I could not get over how awesome her outfit was!  Especially on this rainy day!  “What shows?” you may be asking;  well, we have 7 (maybe even 8!) planned between now and June 8th… craziness!  My next post will be giving those dates and places to you because you’ve asked, so sit tight, they’re acomin’!  ANYWAY, here’s what RM had to say about what she was wearing today:

“A cropped jean jacket is a perfect coverup for a shell that you might otherwise not feel comfortable wearing on its own!  I just got this one and I know it’s going to be a joy to wear this summer!  It really brings everything together!  And whomever said you can’t wear patterned tichels with patterned skirts?!  Just make sure that the color families are complimentary!”

And here is what she had to say about her fantastic tichel:  “I really think the dandelion joy is the most underrated tichel.  I wear mine constantly [Andrea’s note: she really does!] and it somehow manages to do what both a flowered and geometric scarf can do, without really falling into either category!  It has so many colors that you can choose to bring out – I chose the pink today – and its movement and lightness is perfect for the summer.  I can’t get enough!”

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how awesome this woman is?!  Seriously… in awe!  Enjoy, y’all!!

A Silk Wonder!

This scarf, given to me by my mother-in-law, is one of my summer favourites.  It’s made of crushed silk, so it’s light and low maintenance.  The colour changes on the scarf make it look like I’m wearing more than one when really, it feels so light – like I’m barely wearing anything!  For this wrap, I am not wearing the volumizer… just my hair tied up high and the velvet headband with the scarf (it’s hot outside!)

Easy Summer Style

This one is super easy, and only requires one square scarf (no volumizer or any add-ons).  It is much lighter than the usual wraps I wear, and I find that it’s making me happy every time I pass a reflective surface!  Will definitely be experimenting with similar styles over the next few days.
