How do certain days of the week make you feel? Many feel that the beginning of their week takes place after their Sabbath (Day of Rest) from the previous week. Islam and Judaism take the stand that Friday night into Saturday daytime marks the Day of Rest, and that the new week, therefore, begins on Sunday.
Christians observe their Sabbath on Sundays, making Mondays the start of the new week. Also, modern society has unofficially dubbed Monday the beginning of the week, as it’s the start of the business week – Monday through Friday – 9am until 5pm. Equating the beginning of the week with the beginning of the work week has led many to feel the ‘Monday Blues,’ longing for the weekend past and more leisurely times.
We’ve asked our Sweet Wrapunzelistas to take the #WrapADayOfTheWeek Challenge, translating their daily outlook into amazing headwrap creations. Here are some examples!
Let’s see how a full week shapes up for Molly!
Monday – Molly says this was ‘Blue Monday, and her scarf was trying to fly away without her!’ (notice, therefore, that her Soul Soar Square Scarf has birds on it….birds….fly away….you get it!)
Tuesday – ‘Tuesday afternoon for the weekday wrap challenge! Nurturing Bouquet, personal scarf, Wendy Beret Shaper, and mellow earthy vibes’
Wednesday – ‘Hump Day bumpkin for the day of the week challenge! Minimal effort here, basic kerchief tie Rainbow Threads Israeli Tichel on a 1/4 stuffed Cloud9 Shaper. It looks like a lot more art than it is!’
Thursday – ‘I never could get the hang of Thursdays,’ says Molly…
(Hitchhiker’s Guide, IYKYK)
. ‘It’s just a Beginner’s Luck on a Cloud9, but this Splash of Radiance Scarf always hits that spot with a bang!’
Friday – ‘Remember Rebecca Black? I can’t even think about Friday without getting that song stuck in my head. Time to get excited about resting and reconnecting, no matter how you mark the day. These are my happy colors! Marigold Crossroads Scarf, Multi Sari Sash, Wendy, and some good asymmetrical luck!’

Saturday – ‘Getting photo bombed by my child, who is a very silly little guy. This pashmina (Take Flight in Black) is basically sweatpants for your head.’
Sunday – ‘An heirloom with my grandmother-in-law’s church mantilla over a White Israeli Tichel with Silver threads and a Cloud9.’
And now for some…
More Monday

More Tuesday
More Wednesday
More Thursday
More Saturday

I love your site and I am considering covering my hair, at least part time, as G-d leads me in the future.
It would be warmer in our Canadian winters for sure!
You state in this post that the Christian church week starts on Monday after the Sabbath which makes sense using your reasoning. However the Christian church calendar actually starts on a Sunday. It reminds us that Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday, after being dead for 3 days. So Sundays are always a day to celebrate. Monday, in contrast is just the first business day of the week and nothing special!
Please don’t be offended, but I thought you might interested. I am always happy to learn more about Judaism and Islam.
